Dear Hudson Residents,
As we prepare to celebrate a New Year, here is an update on the Clocktower Collaborative. We are proudly moving forward to bring you in-depth articles on key issues to engage more residents in the democratic process by encouraging them to get out and vote.
During the past election, claims were made about the Collaborative – all of which are untrue. Indeed, we are excited to prove the accusations false through legal channels. Unfortunately, making false claims that hurt reputations has become a pattern in our town. Thankfully, every accused person or entity has been fully exonerated and we expect the same.
Thus, we are moving forward as planned, gaining a groundswell of supporters who are simply tired of politics and want something better – informed decision making, civil discourse, and engaged voters!
With that in mind, here’s what you can expect from us in 2024.
More articles.
Our first article – to be published next month in Hudson Monthly, will report on responses from the community survey that was part of the Comprehensive Plan process. The following month, you can expect an article on how the school board is planning to invest new dollars raised via the school levy that passed this November. These articles will be comprehensive in nature and without opinion. We will simply convey the facts so that you are more informed and can draw your own conclusions. Let us know what additional topics/issues you want us to cover! Send your topic requests to: info@clocktowercollab.com
More focus on engaging residents at the polls.
Thanks to some bigger issues on the ballot this past fall, Hudson had a huge turnout – of nearly 63% of residents voting in the last election. Wow – congratulations to the community! Previous elections fell short – some with fewer than 30% of residents voting. We are absolutely committed to keeping the momentum going.
More focus on nonpartisanship.
Hudson has a long legacy of intentional nonpartisanship – a legacy we honor and want to get back to. When it comes to local issues, we strive for open dialogue that seeks commonality and compromise toward a better Hudson. Party politics have no role in community decisions about issues such as roads, parks and infrastructure. Local issues require us – each of us – to be nonpartisan in local elections. Like you, we love this community. Politics must not divide us.
Continued focus on being holistic.
We’ll provide information all year and during every type of election, from general elections to special elections and school board votes.
